Preferences (Personal Preference Settings)

PreferencesHeader.jpg

Preferences allows each user to personalize their Dashboard with the information that they are most interested in monitoring and to make presentational settings for the data to be presented. These preferential settings are unique to the user and also unique to the contract that user has selected, meaning that for those users who may have access to several contracts they can have different dashboards which are configured based on the information they need to know for a particular contract (just as the user may have different privileges between different contracts).

Preferences may only show a portion of the data available. The data that is displayed can be controlled by the sorting options used and quantity of data to display. The dashboard will usually display the scope of what is presented and the total scope of information (i.e., the above screen shot shows that there are 10 Past Due Inspections that will be displayed, but there are a total of 67 Past Due Inspections).

Preferences are divided into several tabs:

General

The General settings allows the user to set to location within SeeSOR.NET the wish to be taken to upon logging in. This reduces the time to navigate through the SeeSOR.NET pathways when there is a frequently used starting location.

Dashboard

The Dashboard settings control the look and feel of an individual user's "Contract Home" page.

  • Settings for Past Due Inspections

"Maximum number of rows to show" on the dashboard and can be set to from 10 to 200.

"Sort items by" can be set based on several options.

"Sort items in descending order" if not selected will sort items in accordance with "Sort items by" in ascending order.

Recommended setting is: Sort by "Past Due Days" and select descending order, this will display the oldest items at the top of the dashboard.

  • Settings for Pending Corrective Actions

"Maximum number of rows to show" on the dashboard and can be set to from 10 to 200.

"Sort items by" can be set based on several options.

"Sort items in descending order" if not selected will sort items in accordance with "Sort items by" in ascending order.

Recommended setting is: Select the longest period and sort by "CA Creation Date" and select descending order, this will display the oldest outstanding CA at the top of the list on the dashboard.

  • Settings for Repeat Corrective Actions

"Generate graph for the last days" 30 to 730 days can be selected.

"Minimum Repeat CA Count" can be set to any whole number.

Recommended setting is: Select 180 days to filter for reasonably recent CAs and select 2 or 3 repeat CA count.

  • Settings for Average Resolution Time

"Generate graph for the last days" 30 to 730 days can be selected.

"Moving Average Length (in days)" can be set to any whole number.

Recommended setting is: Select 365 days and set the moving average to 14 to 30. A one year history of CA will show a sufficient trend and the moving average will dampen the spikes.

  • Settings for Quality Analyst

"Generate graph for the last days" 30 to 730 days can be selected.

"Group Type" is All groups or Administrator; Service Providers; Service Receivers; Others and Inspectors "Section" is any of the functional sections within the Requirements.

"Frequency" is for the divisions to be applied to the x-axis and can be weekly; monthly; quarterly; or yearly.

"Sequence Method" can be Carry Forward Data or Existing Data Only will allow the plot to carry forward inspection results for periods that the requirement was not inspected (i.e., if Frequency is set to weekly and a requirement is scheduled to be performed monthly the last score available will be carried forward for the periods when no inspection was performed). Carry Forward inspections will be highlighted in the data presentation.

"Line Item Value Type" allows the use of Primary or Alternate LI Values.

Recommended setting is: trend for 365 or 730 days, all user groups, select a section only if you are assigned to a single section and plot weekly until there is at least 10 months of data available (then go to monthly), use carry forward (but review the data to ensure that import inspections are occurring at least quarterly, and use primary value unless the design of your specific project uses alternate value as more relevant to you.

  • Settings for Scope of Inspections

"Generate graph for the last days" 30 to 730 days can be selected.

"Frequency" is for the divisions to be applied to the x-axis and can be weekly; monthly; quarterly; or yearly.

"Section" is any of the functional sections within the Requirements.

"Line Item Value Type" allows the use of Primary or Alternate LI Values.

Recommended Setting is: set the duration of analysis to 180 or 365 days, plot weekly until there is at least 10 months of data available (then go to monthly) Note-this is only used in the detailed Scope of Inspections and not on the Dashboard, select a Section that is most important to you or select a section that has be given direction to strive to improve in comparison to the project average (thus increasing the overall project average) and choose Primary LI Value unless there is a compelling reason to use the Alternate LI Value. These settings will ensure that you have inspected the entire scope of the project each year or that you have a reason for the requirements that you have not inspected in the last year.

Inspection Results

Inspection Results allows the setting of Row Highlighting of inspections that are scored as all Not Applicable (N/A). If this setting is selected there will be a light gray highlight to the Inspection Result row for the inspection, if not selected the highlighting in the Inspection Results function for the all N/A scored inspections will be RED (as if the inspection were a zero score).

SeeSOR.NET refresh performance can be enhanced by limiting the populating historical data associated with the line item or corrective action being reviewed. Select the shortest possible time for the "List Inspections performed in the last x days:" to maximize performance or historical information is of little or no value to the user. The amount of data to be displayed on-screen can be changed while in Inspection Results or Corrective Action screens.

Inspections scored as ALL N/A should be examined over time to see if there are consecutive occurrences where all of the inspection checklist are scored as N/A it could mean that the requirement is no longer required. In this case there may be an opportunity to eliminate the requirement and make appropriate adjustments to staffing or other budgeted items (such as associated material or equipment).

Click on the "Update" button to save any changes made to the settings. To return to the default settings click on the "Reset to Defaults" button. Click "Cancel" to leave the Reports Preferences screen without making any changes.

Additional features may be added to the Inspection Results preference in the future.

Corrective Actions

New in v2.0 is SeeSOR.NET's performance when navigating in Corrective Actions can be improved by limiting the number of CA to be populated. Limiting the number of CA's history may also prove to be more useful. Set the default "List Correction Actions created in the last x days" value in the Personal Preferences, and reset in the Corrective Actions panel as desired.
