Activate, Print Inspection Checklist, and Test QA Plans

Once the QA Plan is complete it should be field tested to validate the Sample Selection Procedure will work and that all Checklist items are reasonable and that the scoring criteria is practical and objective. Any problems identified in the field test should be annotated on the Inspection Checklist and the QA Plan modified. The revised QA Plan should be activated and the results against the prototype Inspection Checklist should be entered as the initial inspection, these two actions (performed in this order) will automatically activate the Inspection Schedule module which will schedule the next inspection based on the criteria of the QA Plan and the scores entered.

Printing the Initial Inspection Checklist

Under normal steady-state operations the Inspection Checklist is printed from the Inspection Schedule (items to be inspected for a given day). Refer to the Inspection Schedule in the Operations section of this guide. For the Inspection Schedule to be to initialized there must have been a previous inspection of the SOR Requirement in question. Since the is no previous inspection the user must select from the "Schedule Type" pull-down to find the desired requirement upon which to perform the initial inspection.

NOTE: If the recommendation of this guide is followed (i.e., once the QA Plan is initially completed select "Activate"), the highlighted option of "Never Inspected LIs" is correct. However, if the QA Plan is not "Active" for the QA Plan in question, it will be necessary to select "Inactive QA Plan LIs" from the Schedule Type pull-down list (CAUTION: if you do not make the QA Plan "Active" before you input scores the line item will not be scheduled, the line item must be "Active" to appear on the "Scheduled Inspections" calendar). You may further filter the list by selecting from the "Section" pull-down and only select line items from the selected Section.

2. Click the "Refresh" button. Click on the SOR Requirement for the desired Inspection Checklist in the list that appears on-screen.

3. Click on the Print icon to call up the print screen.

4. Select the "QA Checklist (Current Line Item). For the initial inspection the "Show Score Criteria" should be selected since this is a significant part of the validation of the Inspection Checklist. NOTE: If the "QA Checklist (All Line Items)" is selected all the Inspection Checklist for the item on-screen will be printed sequentially in a single file (PDF). If a subset of the entire list is desired then use the printing range function of your printer.

5. Click the "Export" button to create the file for printing.
